It's about a computer game - one that reminds us a lot of Rollercoaster Tycoon / Theme Park.
And the article was posted at a time when this game was not making any headlines (first I heard of it: here).
I'd say that news on upcoming video games - especially ones that link to "games of our youth" - can definitely be posted here.
And yes, that's a vague definition. Which is why we have editors. It's the editors' job to pick the stories that make the site better/more interesting. And I think Zafiro did a good job with this story.

On the other hand: the site looks good and continues to look better, works well, and I haven't seen any posts here airing dirty laundry, nor is there a constant stream of "what should we do?" posts.
Basically, this site comes across as solid. Once the Bryan in charge feels code base and site are ready for it, he'll tell us.
(As an aside: feel free to comment more and feel free to submit more news stories)

First of all: thanks for the sentiment! I appreciate it :)
My approach: if I come across a story that I want to submit, I would spend a few minutes following sources and Googling it to find an English site that carries an interesting (i.e. more than headline+1 paragraph), non-hyperbole version of the story.
And, finally: for me, you don't need to try and adjust to the group. Submit the things you come across that you would like to see here. The rest here will probably like them too - after all, shared interests got us here in the first place.

The job of a CEO is to lead the company. If his/her personal views are affecting the public image of the company, the use of the company's products, and the effectiveness of the company's employees, then that is a problem for the company.
If it makes business sense for Mozilla to have a different CEO, then they should appoint a different CEO. If what Mr. Eich brings outweighs any negative effects (incurred and expected) wrt. any other potential CEOs, then, by all means, keep him.
But I don't believe that there are no other candidates who are also well-qualified, and who would not kick up this kind of reaction.

^ this. I've (very) recently switched to a smartphone. I'm almost unable to install apps because my conscious prevents me from agreeing to their invasive permission requirements (e.g. even though they're most likely necessary for things like in-app purchases, I don't want a non-phone app to access the phone part of my phone - and lacking an option to turn that off, I choose not to install).
I've managed to install 2 ad-supported apps. Whenever I fire them up when accidentally connected to wifi (no 3g connection anyway), they tell me I have a virus. On an android device. In french.
You can imagine my feelings towards diving deeper into this cesspool.

You're reachable by phone. Any app you need to use you most likely need a user account for anyway, so there it's easy to make an "office" account.
So your dumb phone is your "office" phone, and your smart phone is your private phone. Anything you need to do for work on the smart phone uses a "work" account. The dumb phone is small enough so that it doesn't take any noticeable space.
Only downside is having to mute two phones whenever that pops up.
